Did you know that it’s very important to allow your body to receive high levels of oxygen in order for you to burn more calories? It’s true.
Many of us are so busy we eat fast without breathing.
Yes, we are either on our way to the office in the morning, reading the morning paper, or are busy watching television while eating our dinner.
With these distractions during meal time, we often forget to really slow down, take deep breaths between bites and really allow our bodies the oxygen it needs in order to properly digest our food.
Before you eat your next meal, sit and be quiet for just a few minutes. Take three to four deep breaths until you are in a deep breathing pattern. Once you’re calm and relaxed and have given your body oxygen, then you may go ahead and begin eating your meal.
Think of your metabolism as a fire. What does a fire need in order to continue burning? Oxygen, right? Well, your metabolism needs the same fuel to keep burning.
If your body is low on oxygen, you in return experience poor digestion which results in weight gain.
Low oxygen = poor digestion = weight gain. Simple, right?
So make sure you take long, deep breaths before your next meal. You’ll be able to smell your food which helps you taste your food better and helps you feel satisfied quicker resulting in eating less!
So this technique is quite simple– breathe through your nose and chew your food with your mouth.
