It’s funny how most people think that eating salads three times a day (yes, for breakfast, too!) is the key to losing weight. Well, I’m here to tell you that is just not the case.
Sure eating salad will help you lose weight, but if you’re like me you run the risk of getting bored with the same salad day in and day out and lose motivation to stick with your diet.
Plus, sometimes the toppings you choose to incorporate into your salad (think bacon, blue cheese crumbles) might actually be putting more calories into your diet than if you just ate a cheese burger.
Now, I’m not telling you to eat a cheese burger instead of a salad if you’re looking to lose a few pounds.
What I am saying is that it is NOT necessary to eat a salad, or two or three every day in order to lose weight. Be creative with your meals. It’s OK to do so!
While on the 17 Day Diet, the book tells us during Cycles 1 and 2 to eat unlimited veggies and lean proteins. That doesn’t mean that lettuce is the only veggie you should load up on!
There are great veggies such as green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, asparagus and the like that we can incorporate into our weight loss regimen.
So, if you’re afraid of getting bored with your daily salads or you are tired of eating salads non-stop, consider switching up your menu and incorporating some yummy alternatives.
