Smoothie Ingredients for the 17 Day Diet
When you check out the Transitional Day Fast smoothie recipes, you’ll notice a few added ingredients.
These smoothies are meant to replace your traditional meals for the day, so protein will be a common ingredient.
Matcha green tea powder to help boost fat burning and added fiber to keep you full will also be in some of the smoothies.
Whey Protein – Vanilla Flavored
New to the diet is Whey Protein. In the new book, Dr. Moreno discusses how Whey Protein is rich in certain amino acids and plays an important role in our health. Whey Protein is used in the smoothie recipes during the optional Transitional Fast Day.
Word of Caution: If you’re trying to keep your food “clean”, I’d recommend choosing an unflavored whey protein that has as few ingredients as possible.
The issue with most flavored protein powders are the added sugar and/or artificial sweeteners, along with other ingredients that you may not want to include in your diet.

Matcha Green Tea Powder
Also new to the diet is Matcha Green Tea Powder.
Dr. Moreno uses this ingredient in the smoothies as part of the optional Transitional Fast Day. Matcha is a powdered green tea made by pulverizing green tea leaves.
Matcha contains 137 times more antioxidant powder than other green teas.
Matcha also contains more caffeine than other green teas, but you won’t experience the “coffee jitters” because of the L-theanine, an amino acid found in the Match. L-theanine, according to the 17 Day Diet Breakthrough Edition, promotes the feeling of relaxed alertness.

Powdered Fiber Supplement
Lastly, fiber is a new addition to the optional Transitional Day Fast smoothies for the 17 Day Diet. Increased fiber in your diet promotes fullness, doesn’t get stored as fat, and regulates blood sugar as well as many other health related benefits.
