Blueberries and Cream Green Smoothie for the 17 Day Diet

This is one of my popular green smoothie recipes, Blueberries and Cream Green Smoothie, that we featured in both a previous 17 Day Diet weight loss challenge and my green smoothie recipe book called Addicted!

This is a perfectly lower carb smoothie recipe for weight loss.

So whether you’re on the 17 Day Diet, Kickstart Diet or Keto Diet, you can’t go wrong.

Keep reading as I’ll let you know which cycle/phase this smoothie is allowed for on each diet!

Low Carb Blueberry Smoothie made with protein rich yogurt for a creamy texture

Ingredients for Blueberries and Cream Green Smoothie

Don’t let the “cream” in this smoothie recipe name fool you! There’s no actual cream in it, but it is creamy because of one of the ingredients.

This Blueberries and Cream Green Smoothie is pretty basic – three ingredients is all you need.

First there’s the star of the show, blueberries.

Using frozen blueberries in this green smoothie keeps the smoothie nice and cold

The recipe calls for frozen blueberries. If you have fresh blueberries, you can use these too.

However, using frozen fruit in any smoothie is going to keep your smoothie nice and chilled!

The next ingredient is spinach.

Spinach is a nutrient-rich veggie

A great tip is to freeze your spinach ahead of time.  Using frozen spinach will help your smoothie ingredients blend better.

Lastly, the liquid in this smoothie is plain yogurt.

If you’re not a fan of plain yogurt, feel free to substitute with kefir or my homemade almond milk.

Use the same measurement as you would with yogurt.

Yogurt is a great way to get your probiotics in

Smoothies are a great go-to snack or breakfast when you’re busy and need something in a pinch.

It’s even quicker if you have all of your smoothie ingredients (except for the liquid) pre-packaged and frozen in individual serving sizes in a sealable bag.

Plus, like I mentioned earlier, having your spinach frozen ahead of time helps with the blending process!

When you have individual packets ready to go, you just dump your ingredients right into the blender, add your liquid and blend away!

If you’re looking at a meal replacement, consider adding a bit of whey protein to your smoothie, and maybe a drizzle of coconut or olive oil.

After you try this Blueberries and Cream Green Smoothie, you can also create your own smoothie recipe by following my custom green smoothie formula.

Optional Boosters for Blueberries and Cream Green Smoothie

Depending on the protein content of your yogurt, you might want to add a scoop of your favorite protein.

I personally like unflavored whey protein powder so I can control the flavor of my smoothie.

However, if you have vanilla flavored, for instance, this would be OK too!

Here are a few optional boosters you may include in this recipe:

In addition, you may add optional ingredients such as peanut butter if you’re on Cycle 3.

If you’re not sure which foods are allowed when, make sure you check out my 17 Day Diet Cycle 1 Food List for all the info!

You can also check out my book on Amazon called Fast Track Your Weight Loss With the 17 Day Diet which has all the food lists (and a 7 day meal plan, too!).

Can This Smoothie Be Used for the 17 Day Kickstart Diet?

Yes! This smoothie may be enjoyed during the 10-Day Stabilize Phase of the 17 Day Kickstart Diet.

If you’re not sure when certain foods are allowed, make sure you take a look at my organized 17 Day Kickstart Diet Food List.

If you want to use this recipe for an earlier phase of the 17 Day Kickstart Diet, you’ll need to adjust the ingredients a bit as dairy yogurt is only allowed starting on day 10.

For the 3-day Scrub or 4-Day Soak Up Phases, you may use either a non-dairy yogurt or any of the following milks:

  • Light Coconut Milk
  • Unsweetened Flax Milk
  • Unsweetened Hemp Milk
Coconut milk is a great dairy alternative with healthy fats

Is this Smoothie Keto Friendly?

Of course! Make sure you stick with full fat yogurt (or you can even have full fat coconut milk instead) and try to stick with blueberries as they are the lowest in sugar of all berries.

If your individual macros don’t allow for the amount of blueberries this recipe calls for, feel free to add in the amount that works best for you.

  1. Started 4days ago..Loving it..My question is I can’t find sugar free yogurt.Would you tell me what yogurt I can have. And I’d also like to know if I could have fat-free ricotta cheese with blueberries? Thank you

    • Hi Julie, you’ll likely have a difficult time finding sugar free yogurt (I don’t think one really exists). The best thing to do is look for a yogurt that has no sugar added or any artificial sweeteners. Best to keep the grams of sugar under 9 per 6 oz serving. Fat free ricotta would be considered a condiment under the C1 food list and should be used in moderation.

      • Hi Julie and Torey, My friend have been on the 17Day Diet for 2 months….excellent! We buy local made yogurt from cows that are 100% grass fed. We avoid the vanilla flavored because it has extra sugar and buy the plain….delicious!
