Luckily, the 17 Day Diet has given us great guidelines to help us shed a few pounds with detoxifying foods, especially during Cycle 1 where most of the release of toxins occur.

This 3 Day Detox Meal Plan for Weight Loss is super clean, low carb and features all your favorites that are approved for Cycle 1.

Detoxifying Foods for Weight Loss

Before we get into the specific 3 Day Detox Meal Plan I created for maximum weight loss, let’s go over a few of the detoxifying foods used in this Detox Meal Plan to help us shed a few pounds and jumpstart our weight loss.

Detoxifying Vegetables

Cruciferous vegetables and leafy greens and other detox-friendly vegetables are abundant detoxifying foods on 17 Day Diet Cycle 1 food list.

Here are some of the stars of the show:

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Cabbage
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Asparagus
  • Leafy Greens
  • Cucumbers
  • Garlic

Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and leafy greens are high in fiber and help with the excretion of toxins through bile and stool.

Cruciferous vegetables are known to have anti-cancer, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory effects.

If you see a veggie on this list, eat it up!

Detoxifying Fruits

In this 3 Day Detox Meal Plan for Weight Loss, you’ll find a few of the following detoxifying fruits that will help you purge toxins from your body and allow you to release those pesky pounds:

  • Lemon
  • Blueberries
  • Apples

There’s a reason the 17 Day Diet encourages hot lemon water first thing in the morning.

This drink helps get your digestive juices flowing and when we’re able to properly digest food, we’re going to feel much better about everything!

Blueberries are another detox-friendly fruit and are filled with antioxidants which help fight off cancer, lower blood pressure, and are lower in sugar and higher in fiber and help with weight loss.

Apples are high in fiber and keep you fuller longer because they take longer to digest.

Plus, the pectin helps your body release toxins, so make sure you eat an apple if you’re hungry and need a snack in between meals.

Detoxifying Herbs

  • Cilantro
  • Turmeric
  • Garlic (mentioned above as it’s technically a veggie, but wanted to add it here, too!)

Cilantro is one of those herbs that you either love or hate – there’s no in between. If you’re one that loves this tasty herb, then you’re in luck!

Cilantro is nature’s gift to naturally help detox your body of heavy metals. Cilantro binds to heavy metals in your body and helps you flush these toxins out for good!

If you’re not a fan of cilantro, you can omit this herb in the soup recipe I have in the 3 Day Detox Meal Plan for Weight Loss below.

Detoxifying herbs such as turmeric, garlic and cilantro help release toxins and jumpstart your weight loss

While I didn’t feature turmeric in the 3 Day Detox Meal Plan, it is important to note that turmeric is great for inflammation, which will help you lose weight.

Garlic is another great detoxifying food – it helps activate the liver detox enzymes and also protects your body against illness due to 39 different antibacterial agents!

If you don’t mind scaring people with your garlic breath, then eat up!

Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight Loss

Apple cider vinegar is great for weight loss. It also helps with digestion, blood pressure and helps lower glucose levels.

In this 3 Day Detox Meal Plan for Weight Loss, I include an Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing recipe for your lunch salads.

17 Day Diet Smoothies

In this 3 Day Detox Meal Plan for Weight Loss, I’ve included a few smoothies. Green smoothies are a great way to get in extra fiber and stay fuller longer to help jumpstart your weight loss.

On day 1 of this meal plan, I’ve included a few smoothies from the Transitional Day Fast (aka 17 Day Diet smoothie day) and a recipe of my own if you’re looking to fuel up on blueberries!

Smoothies are great for weight loss if done right! Add in lots of fiber-rich foods and low sugar berries and you have yourself a fat burning machine!

On days 2 and 3 we incorporate foods other than smoothies – great protein sources such as eggs and chicken, fiber-rich detox soups, and satiating dinners so you’re not tempted to reach for the dessert later in the evening!

17 Day Green Tea Diet

If you’re familiar with the 17 Day Diet, you know that green tea is a HUGE part of the weight loss protocol.

Green tea is chock full of antioxidants and has been known to prevent cancer due to its production of detoxifying enzymes.

Green tea has been known to help burn fat, too.

In this 3 Day Detox Meal Plan for Weight Loss, you’ll drink green tea daily – try for at least 3 cups per day.

Green tea, while you want to drink at least 3 cups per day to get the maximum fat burning benefits, is considered a “negative water”.

You’ll want to increase your water intake the more green tea you drink, to ensure you’re getting proper hydration.

Water For Weight Loss

Probably one of the MOST important things you can do for detoxing and weight loss is drink plenty of water.

As a minimum, strive for at least eight 8-oz glasses of water per day.

Water is going to allow your body to release water and fat, burn more calories, and allow you to eat less if you drink a big glass before a meal.

If your diet is proper, but your weight loss has stalled, make sure you are drinking enough water! This is usually the first thing I have people evaluate when they plateau.

Turkey Cilantro Enchilada Soup for the 17 Day Diet

  • Small handful of fresh blueberries or strawberries
